SKILLED TRADES
Providing $50 Million in Support for America's Skilled Trades
To prepare hundreds of thousands of tradespeople for America's technological future, Google is providing $50 million to leading training providers—electrical training ALLIANCE (etA), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), TradesFutures, the United Association's International Training Fund (ITF) and the International Training Institute for the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Industry (ITI). This funding will help them increase apprenticeships and modernize training curricula, ensuring workers have the skills to pursue a skilled trades career, no matter where they want to work.

Empowering the Future of Electrical Workers
In 2025, Google announced support to the electrical training ALLIANCE (etA) to provide tens of thousands of electrical workers and apprentices with critical AI skills. With new Google.org funding, etA will bring training directly to high-demand infrastructure hubs through a first-of-its-kind mobile training center pilot.

Google is supporting the Manufacturing Institute (MI) to provide AI education to tens of thousands of current and future workers across the manufacturing sector. This initiative equips shop floor workers and advanced maintenance technicians with a foundational knowledge of AI, and expands apprenticeship opportunities to ensure American manufacturing thrives in an AI-driven world.
